Flora

The climate here in Elgsnes is friendly compared to other areas at the same latitude. This is due to the warm Gulf Stream, which passes just off the coast. The local climate is therefore good, so the nature is lusher than one would expect this far north. Here in Elgsnes the ground consists mostly of acidic bedrock, but near the sea there are a lot of shell remains in the soil, allowing plants that require a soil of low acidity to grow.
