Sea fishing
Ever since the first people settled here in Elgsnes at least 10.000 years ago, the fish-rich Andfjorden and Toppsundet have been important to make a living. The strong current in the sea around Elgsnes cause that you don't need to go far to find good fishing places. Andfjorden next to Elgsnes is well known as a particularly good halibut fjord, but also with plenty of good fishing spots for cod, coalfish, mackerel, haddock, ling, tusk, redfish and most other fish species found in the north. In the sea there are also seals and small whales. And when the herring shoals come, the humpback and killer whales are following. The guesthouse has three solid and safe 19 feet Kværnø aluminum boats for hire. The boats are equipped with 50 horsepower Yamaha 4 stroke outboard motor with electric start and remote control from the steering console where there is also mounted fish finder and chart plotter. The boats have several rod holders and a targa hoop with lanterns; and they are in our own harbor just 60 meters or 66 yards from the house. For booking, look at the top of this page.
